I was recently featured in VoyagePhoenix, where I had the chance to open up about my work, my life, and the values that guide me. The interview felt less like a Q and A and more like a meaningful conversation that reminded me why I do what I do.
I wanted to share a bit of that reflection here with you.
When they asked what is bringing me joy lately, my answer surprised even me. Walking.
I have avoided exercise for most of my life, but something about walking has become a source of happiness. Moving slowly, being outside, breathing, thinking. It is amazing how something so simple can shift how you feel.
One of my favorite parts of the interview was explaining what makes my work so special to me.
I have always believed that a story well told can transform everything. It can change your career, your confidence, your visibility, and even the legacy you leave behind. That belief comes from my background as a journalist and publicist, and it is why I founded Big Impact Books.
My mission is to help experts such as CEOs, attorneys, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders turn their knowledge into a book that is:
It is not ghostwritten fluff. It is not vanity publishing. It is their wisdom elevated and organized into something powerful and lasting.
Right now, I am working with brilliant professionals who are finally being seen, heard, and recognized. Not because they changed who they are but because they now have a book that reflects who they have always been.
Helping people rise is my favorite part.

They also asked about influences from my life, and the answer came easily. My grandma.
She passed away recently at 100 and a half years old, and she was one of my greatest gifts. She believed in me long before I knew how to believe in myself. She showed me what unconditional love looks like. Being valued for who you are, not what you accomplish. I carry her wisdom with me every day.
Another question that struck me was about fear.
For most of my life, the fear that held me back the most was the fear of upsetting others.
But the truth is that you simply cannot please everyone.
I am learning and relearning that the most important person to please is yourself.
If you have spent any time with me, you know I am an open book. Yes, I love that pun. The public version of me is the real me. I do not hide, I do not pretend, and I tell it like it is. Kindly, but honestly.
They ended with a lighthearted hypothetical.
If you knew you had only ten years left, what would you stop doing?
My answer.
I would stop filling my 401K and start putting it all in the stock market.
Go big or go home, right?
